The Palumbo Blog

Keep up to date on all of the latest news and trends in the Exhibit Design & Production industry. We also like to share some of the fun things we do that makes us "Palumbo", as well as some of the awesome projects that we work on.

They say it takes a village to raise a child. It can also take a village to build a tradeshow display. We sure can do A LOT here at Palumbo Associates, but we can’t do everything. It’s no secret that we have trusted/proven vendors for certain items. It’s a perfect example of “do less things and do them better”. We work hand-in-hand with these partners day in and day out to the point where they are simply an extension of our own production facility. Their representatives know our standards and our methods and deliver products that are nothing short of “Palumbo perfect”.

This same mindset can be applied to almost any area of the exhibit planning, designing and building process. Tradeshow graphics for instance are a whole different animal than a website or a brochure. Since most people will be standing at a tradeshow, any critical viewing material must be at eye level or preferably above. Tradeshow furniture has to be carefully selected to not be overly low, overly difficult to get in and out of, or overly comfortable. Tradeshow substrates need to be durable, easy to clean and in a perfect world, fingerprint proof. Tradeshow space planning is unlike home or office space planning and needs to be handled differently. Tradeshow multimedia presentations have to account for shortened attention spans, distractions, noise levels, etc. I could go on and on about the subtle differences that makes the tradeshow environment unique, but I don’t want to bore you. Not to mention, the items mentioned thus far have only dealt with functionality, there is also a whole list of tradeshow “rules and regulations” that prevent your display(s) from blocking/intruding on your neighbor’s space… but like I said, I don’t want to bore you with the minutia that Palumbo Associates should be handling for you.

Ohhhhh, you say you’re doing it to save money… well that’s a completely different story. While personally handling things like the booth space reservation, booth design, show services, graphics, shipping, etc. may seem like a cost savings, the consequences of fumbling just one of those items could mean the entire show is a bust for your company. Long story short, trust the experts who do this stuff day in and day out!
